The Danish Institute for Fisheries Research (DIFRES)

The Danish Institute for Fisheries Research researches into and gives advice on the use of living resources from the sea and freshwater. We advise the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, other public authorities, international organisations, the fishing industry and other interest groups. Research covers all links in the chain from the water to the table. We research into the relation between the water based environment and the production of fish and shellfish. We give advice on breeding and on the commercial and recreational use of fish and shellfish. We also research into processing and the transformation of fisheries products into healthy foodstuffs.
